How To Be A Better Host

Sometimes being a host can be super stressful. You want your house to be perfectly clean, have the perfect table setting and smell amazing. Here are my steps for how to prepare for hosting to make it just a little bit less stressful:

1. Don’t wait until the last minute to clean up!

We all do it… who wants to prep the house for hosting after work when the couch looks like a much better plan? I try to clean a little bit each day the whole week beforehand. I also rely on Glade® Atmosphere Collectionâ„¢ Fine Fragrance Mist products with light, premium fragrances infused with essential oils to help set the mood for company. Nothing is more welcoming than walking into someone’s house when it smells excellent!

2. Keep all of your hosting supplies in one spot

I have a wonderful hutch that I painted myself to keep all of my glassware and “special” dishes. It’s fun to display them and it makes it SUPER easy when the time comes to set the table for guests.

3. Spray Your Favorite Fragrance!

You know how everyone’s house seems to have a unique smell? Don’t let that be the impression you leave with your guests. Make sure to spray each area they might be in. I love when I get comments like “oh wow, your house smells great!” which ACTUALLY happens. I use both Glade® Atmosphere Collectionâ„¢ Fine Fragrance Mist No.1 Enrapturedâ„¢ and No.2 Brightâ„¢ fragrances to set the perfect mood that will give the impression I like: one of freshness and happiness.

No.1 Enrapturedâ„¢ fragrance has elegant notes of jasmine and rose are given a modern twist with scents of pink lady apple and honeysuckle. A hint of honey lends a sweet surprise over a backdrop of cedar wood and spicy clove bud notes. No.2 Brightâ„¢ fragrance on the other hand has a touch of ripe raspberries and orchard fruit notes mingle with jasmine, rose and sweet pea over a pillowy bed of powder musk, sweet tonka bean and sheer blonde woods scents.
