How to Get Soft, Shiny and Silky Hair

In my last blog post I promised I’d be writing more about the stuff you wanted to know about me or some beauty tips I have to share with you, so here it is!

A question I get all the time is – How do I get soft, shiny and silky hair?

Truth be told – there’s many ways to do this. Yes, there is not only one and you can always get creative about it but I will go through specific methods that I have been using for the past couple of years that have been very effective, really giving me that soft, shiny and silky hair!

The best part about proper hair care is that you don’t need a lot of money and most of this stuff can be prepared at home. Many of us make a mistake by only going to hairdressers or beauty salons to do your treatments and hair care, while actually the best treatment your hair can have starts at your home.

My number one product is…. (wait for it)… APPLE CIDER VINEGAR! This is literally a life saver when it comes to achieving that perfect soft, shiny and silky hair! What apple cider vinegar does to your hair is actually restore the hair to its proper pH value. As a result, you will have hair that’s much healthier and stronger. And yes – it works!

So, how do you do it?

It’s actually pretty easy.

  1. Shampoo your hair the same way you usually would and try to rinse it with cold water (I know this can sound like a difficult thing to do, but try doing it part by part and avoid scalp in case it is too cold for you).
  2. Use both water and apple cider vinegar to make a mixture. Make sure to use equal amounts of both water and apple cider vinegar.
  3. Let the mixture sit in your hair for a while (15 mins would be perfect)
  4. Rinse it out (with warm water this time) and there’s your perfect soft, silky and shiny hair!

An excellent and affordable alternative to apple cider vinegar is coconut oil that seriously does wonders to your split ends and soothes hair immediately after you rinse it off. You can use it as a mask and apply it on your hair while it’s wet but only on your ends since it will get too greasy if you apply it to your scalp. Let it sit on your hair for 30 minutes, then rinse it off and you’re good to go!

So that’s about it! Simple, yet effective tricks that helps me achieve the soft, silky and shiny hair. It takes less than 30 mins of your time yet your hair will thank you, trust me! Try to repeat it weekly and I’m sure you’ll see some amazing results.

Make sure to share your experience in the comments section if you decide to try this!

Rinsing your hair with cold water during the summer is easy but yes it is a challenge on winter but it’s so good for our hair. When I lived in Asia my hair was amazing because I was able to rinse it in cold water. I super love your hair btw!
