How Often Do I Flat Iron My Hair?

Processed with VSCO with c9 preset

Hi lovelies!

After writing many random blog posts about fashion and beauty tips, I have now decided to dedicate next couple of posts to YOU and YOUR questions!

Yes, that’s right! In the next couple of weeks, I will be covering some of the most frequently asked questions by my readers and I hope you will enjoy these as well and find them to be useful.

To start with, I will answer your question of How Often Do I Flat Iron My Hair?

When I first read this question I realized that I actually don’t have a routine when it comes to flat ironing my hair! As you probably realized from some of my recent posts, I do pay a lot of attention to my hair and always make sure that is has the finest treatment.

My hair can be a bit… stubborn, from time to time. We all have those days, right? You wake up and you just kind of realize that it’s not going to be a good hair day. When this happens, usually the first thing to do is to put my hair up in a cute ponytail and rock that style throughout my whole bad hair day. But, sometimes I really don’t feel like wearing a ponytail and really want my hair to be super fine and sleek. That’s when I grab my flat iron to save the day!

Luckily, I don’t have too many bad hair days, so I try to avoid flat iron as much as possible but even when I do use it, I do a lot of prepping and of course – always apply heat protection spray!

Since I also like my hair curly from time to time, I use q flat iron to create those super cute curls, as well. This is usually for special occasions or if I’m really in the mood to be all girly and cute.

So, my answer to How Often Do I Flat Iron My Hair would be 1-2 times per week tops.

I think that using a flat iron more than 2 times per week can do damage to your hair, especially if your hair isn’t really thick and is already damaged or dyed.

Please pay attention to your hair, I know we all have those bad hair days, but sometimes it is better just to put put with it by wearing a ponytail or putting on a hat rather than destroying your hair with excess heat and without proper products to prepare your hair for the heat treatment.

I use the curly iron and I am very cautious with it. You have to protect your hair from the heat. Thx for this post

I have a short hair and I doesn’t iron them but my daughter keeps my iron and she’s using every day. Absolutely I don’t like this because can damage her hair so I put it out 😉 the iron. Thanks for the tips.XxEvawww.thememaidfashion.com

Using a heat styling tool no more than twice a week is such a great tip! I used to wash and blow-dry my hair every other day and that totally damaged my hair, leaving my ends very dry. I now only wash and style twice a week as well. It really does make all the difference in the world.

I don’t often flat iron my hair because it is naturally straight. I love how you look with curly hair but your straight hair also looks so refreshing.

You have such beautiful hair and it’s obvious that you take good care of it. When I had the super layered, shaggy/emo style haircut back in high school, I was flat-ironing every single day and it was soooo damaging… I chemically straighten it twice a year to maintain my bob and it’s much better I think.xo samantha
