Top 5 Destinations in Europe

Travel junkie as I am, I always think of new places to visit, be that in the US or in Europe! Traveling is simply something that I think everyone should include as a part of their lifestyle. Why? Well, the answer is quite simple, especially if you’re a travel freak like me. It’s easy to become fed up with the environment you’re in, so you need a quick break from all that and the best way to do that – throw a dart at a world map and pick your destination! Of course, your wallet will be the one to determine how far your dart can go.

Every time after taking a trip, I feel more positive and refreshed when I come back, filled with great energy and great stories to share with my friends. It’s like recharging your batteries and it always does more good than bad. Many times I think about how much money we all spend on clothes, food and drinking during the weekend, while we could invest that time and money in a trip that will be life-changing!

If you’re tired of visiting other states and you really need a new challenge, something completely different, then Europe’s just the right thing for you! Many places in Europe have wonderful architecture, a lot of it from even ancient times and it is really different from what we can see in the USA. The European variety of food, tradition and culture are just some of the things you will be astonished by. In this post, I will show you my top 5 destinations to visit in Europe. Hope you enjoy!

1. Rome, Italy

Rome – the eternal city! When you go there, it’s easy for you to see why it’s called this – whatever happens, Rome stays! There are plenty of things to see while in Rome – the Roman Forum, Collosseum, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, as well as to try Italian food – pizza and pasta. If you have the time, make sure to also visit the Vatican, since it would be an experience you’ll never forget! It’s a city with a lot of history and it will be everything but boring.

2. Edinburgh, Scotland

Scotland has always been one of my favorite places in Europe, especially because of its architecture. There’s something addictive about its streets and the medieval Old Town. Not to mention the regal castle.. This is the place you’ve only seen in movies so far.

3. Barcelona, Spain

Here’s a city that brought me back to life – Barcelona! It’s full of vibrant colors, sunny days and positivity wherever you go. The architecture is simply breathtaking, La Sagrada Familia (picture below) being one of my favorite works of Gaudi! The building is massive and is thus one of the most visited places by tourists from all over the world.

4. Amsterdam, Netherlands

Oh, I love Amsterdam! The lights, the canals, the windmills.. There’s no other place in the entire world like Amsterdam! It’s so easy to fall in love with this city. What I like the most is how majority of people in Amsterdam use bicycles; you can find these at every corner and there are tons of them. Say hello to clean air and healthy lifestyle. A perfect place to visit, or even live in!

5. St. Petersburg, Russia

This city looks like it’s from a fairytale! The best part is that it is even more beautiful (yes, imagine that) during the winter and it really has that magical feel. While winter might be a better choice of season to visit St. Petersburg, it is definitely much colder during that time, so keep that in mind!

What are some of your favorite destinations?
